Abstract

The aim of this research is to understand the impact that the implementation of AI has on the graphic design industry focusing on the benefits and drawback it brings. As well as creating an artefact using Adobe Photoshop and Davinci Resolve and conducting a survey using Google Forms to gain insight on the participants perception regarding human vs AI in graphic design. Furthermore, the research methods used were qualitative and quantitative which ensured the research was reliable, valid, and no unconscious bias was presented. It will discuss the challenges such as the sample size and the lack of industry professionals and the successes being the development of my comprehension of AI technologies and their effects on the industry. Finally, the conclusions from this dissertation were that AI is constantly developing and will continue to revolutionise the graphic design industry and transforming the traditional design workflow enabling the exploration of new avenues for designers.
