Read the news write up and see pictures of the official opening ceremony of the new Library building held on Wednesday 31 January.

Official Opening

On Wednesday 31 January 2007, over 100 guests will be visiting the University Library for a short official ceremony to mark the opening of the new building. Baroness James of Holland Park, [P D James, the writer], will unveil a plaque to mark the occasion.

Library staff will try to keep disruption to services to a minimum, but library users should note that the Issue Desk will be closed from approx. 11.20 to 12.00 on that day while the speeches are being made. We will also be asking students for their co-operation in using certain routes through the building
